Thousands of people joined a demonstration calling for a Yes vote in next year's Scottish independence referendum, Saturday 21 September 2013. The event in Edinburgh drew crowds from across the country, who heard speeches from key figures in the pro-independence movement including First Minister Alex Salmond and his deputy Nicola Sturgeon.
Campaigners gathered in the city's High Street and marched to Calton Hill via North Bridge, Waterloo Place and Regent Road.
